Refugee Week is coming soon! This year’s theme of ‘Our Home’ is particularly relevant to us at Boaz. We know how vital safe, stable accommodation is. As Aimee* told us:

“Housing is key. Nothing else is possible without a roof over your head.”

And yet, we also recognise that the concept of home is a complex one - particularly for people who have sought safety in the UK. We cannot let the hostility of our current government’s asylum and immigration policies speak louder than the hospitality we know exists in communities across the UK.

So, this Refugee Week, we're inviting you to join us by standing in solidarity and celebrating the creativity and resilience of people with lived experience of displacement. Find out how you can get involved below!

Events

  • Family Night | Monday 17th June | 6.30-8.30pm

Family Night is a chance for everyone connected with Boaz to come together to share food, stories and news from the past few months.

Everyone is so welcome - whether you are a long-standing supporter or friend of Boaz, or just interested in finding out more about what we do and how you can be involved. Find more details at the button below.

Come to Family Night

  • Run your own Refugee Week event!

It might be a bake sale, an art exhibition a coffee morning or something else entirely! You could use your event to fundraise for Boaz or to raise awareness in your community, group or place of worship.

We have members of staff who can come and speak at your Refugee Week event - click the button below to register your interest and we'll be in touch. You can also submit your event to the Refugee Week calendar here.

Simple Acts

Simple Acts are everyday actions we can all take to stand with people seeking sanctuary and make new connections in our communities. They range from actions like watching a film or discovering a story to sharing a meal or caring for our collective home, planet earth.

You can find some more inspiration from our Instagram account, including reels on books to read in Refugee week and a random simple acts generator!

Support our work

This Refugee Week could be an opportunity for you to make a tangible difference for people who have sought safety in the UK and are now facing homelessness.

A donation of £152 could enable us to provide 1 week of housing (including all bills and food costs) and person-centred support to someone experiencing destitution.
