Events

We’ve always got something going on at Boaz, and we’d love you to be a part of our activities and events. See below for the latest details…

Hannah Atkins Album Launch! A long-standing supporter and friend of Boaz, ‘Hannah Atkins‘, is launching her new Album ‘Beyond Your Skin’ on the 15th February at Band On The Wall in Manchester. Hannah will be performing her album material with a full band including a string quartet with extra guest musicians such as a Judith Ude on the harp. The event is being run in partnership with various social justice charities (including us!), and the show will feature real stories of the people behind the song lyrics, including a live performance about a Boaz client.

Tickets are £7 in advance or £8 on the door, available from www.hannahatkins.com and Band On The Wall box office. Contact the Boaz office for more details.

STAR (Student Action for Refugees) Sleepout- Thurs 23rd Feb, taking place as part of a national campaign, Still Human Still Here. The event will be taking place on the steps of the Manchester University Student Union on Oxford Road and will be raising awareness about the plight of destitute asylum seekers across the UK. Could you take part? Could you get sponsored to do it for Boaz? Get in touch if so!

Lent Endurance Challenge- this is the perfect opportunity to see what it’s like to live as a destitute asylum seeker- and raise money for Boaz as you go! Beginning on 22nd Feb- anyone can sign up to live for a week as many of our clients live every day. See our sponsorship page for more info.

Family Night- these happen every other month at Boaz and are a great way to meet clients, supporters and trustees of the organisation. We start the evenings with a bring-and-share meal and then move onto a time of celebration and story-sharing. All welcome- the next one is Sat 25th Feb!
