Boaz 2012

Boaz 2012 was our Christmas and New Year appeal for 2011-12, and will be continuing throughout this year.

At Boaz we spend approximately £30,000 a year on basic essentials for Boaz residents, who have no income and can’t pay for their own food or travel costs. That’s just over 12% of our annual budget, and it works out at roughly £13 a week for each client. However, rising costs of travel and food mean that this is no longer sufficient to cover everyone’s needs, and with this in mind, we want to increase it to £20 per week.

At the moment we have just over 100 regular givers. Through Boaz 2012, we are hoping to gain an additional 250 people (or groups) to give £20 each month, to cover basic needs packages for all our clients.

The other way to be part of Boaz 2012 is to give a one-off donation; this can be done online, or by sending a cheque (made payable to ‘The Boaz Trust’).

Basic needs packages enable our clients to pay for basic essentials like groceries, toiletries and transport costs with a greater degree of choice and independence. Being able to increase our giving each week will make a vital difference to the lives of destitute asylum seekers here in Manchester.
