This is what one of our Somalian clients said recently about his experience of our work:
‘As an asylum seeker I have problems. I am hopeless. I am ignored. We can do nothing. Before I came to Boaz I had nowhere to go, nowhere to stay, and no food or any income. Boaz have made a difference by giving me a place to stay. They also give me some income, which makes me happy. In the future I hope I get my papers so I can move on with life. And I hope everyone gets what they are looking for’.
Indeed, many have recently ‘got what they’re looking for’, with 5 Boaz clients getting ‘leave to remain’ in the last fortnight! Whilst we are delighted with these breakthroughs, the reality is that without money to fund our legal, support, housing and advocacy work, many more will not receive the support and justice they so desperately need and deserve.
