Urgent Request For Action
Please will you act to support our friend Hermine Mofor who has been living in a Boaz house since September 2008?

Hermine Clautilde Mofor Kaldjob is a Cameroonian businesswoman involved with the SCNC (Southern Cameroons National Council), a self-determination political group frequently persecuted by the established government. Her husband disappeared before she fled Cameroon and is believed to have died whilst held in detention. Hermine herself was detained and tortured by government law-enforcers.
Hermine claimed asylum in the UK on 23rd November 2007. Her claim was refused, and her support withdrawn in July 2008. She was detained by the Home Office, then tagged and released with no rights to work, benefits or housing. Since September she has been accommodated and supported by the Boaz Trust.
On Tuesday morning Hermine was detained at the Reporting Centre at Dallas Court in Salford. The Home Office has set removal directions for this Saturday, 17th January, on British Airways Flight BA302 from Heathrow to Paris, then on to Yaoundé, Cameroon.
Hermine has a recent medical report, which confirms that she has been tortured; her legal representatives are preparing a fresh claim for asylum, which will be submitted by Wednesday, January 14th.
Please can you take a few minutes to act on Hermine’s behalf? She is an intelligent and popular lady who has been an excellent volunteer at Boaz and has a lot to offer our country. If she is returned to Cameroon her life will be in grave danger.
